Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

These questions cover common concerns patients have when seeking services such as Physiotherapy, Chiropractic care, and Massage Therapy.  Our job is to provide you as much information as possible so there are no unwanted surprises for you, if your question is not listed here, please give us a call and we'll be happy to provide you more details.

1. What conditions do you treat at your clinic?

We treat a wide variety of conditions, including musculoskeletal issues (e.g., back pain, neck pain, arthritis), sports injuries, post-surgery rehabilitation, neurological conditions (e.g., stroke, Parkinson’s), respiratory conditions, and balance and mobility issues.

2. Do I need a referral to see a Physiotherapist, Chiropractor or Massage Therapist?

In Ontario, you do not need a referral to see a physiotherapist for most conditions. Physiotherapists are considered primary healthcare providers, so you can book an appointment directly.

3. What should I expect during my first appointment?

During your first visit, the practitioner will conduct a comprehensive assessment, which may include a discussion of your medical history, physical examination, and any relevant tests. They will then create a personalized treatment plan based on your condition.

4. How much does it cost?

The cost of your appointment can vary depending on the condition that you're coming in for.  Fees typically are $110 for your first appointment (not including speciality modularities) and in the range of $60 to $80 for returning patients.

5. Are your services covered by OHIP (Ontario Health Insurance Plan)?

Physiotherapy, Massage Therapy and Chiropractic care are not covered by OHIP for most adults, unless the treatment is part of a hospital inpatient or outpatient program. However, these services may be covered through extended health benefits provided by insurance plans, and certain groups (such as seniors, people with low income, or those on social assistance) may have access to subsidized services through government programs. We work with all extended health benefit plans (employer plans) and are able to direct bill to most insurance plans for you.

6. How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions required varies depending on the condition being treated, your goals, and your progress. Some people may need only a few visits, while others may need longer-term treatment. Your therapist will provide an estimated treatment plan and adjust it based on your response to therapy.

7. Can I do recommended exercises at home?

Yes, your Therapist may prescribe home exercises to complement your in-clinic treatments. They will provide guidance on how to do the exercises safely and effectively, which can help speed up your recovery.

8. What is the difference between physiotherapy and chiropractic care?

Physiotherapy focuses on rehabilitation and movement restoration through exercises, manual therapy, and modalities such as heat, ice, and ultrasound. Chiropractors typically focus on spinal alignment and may use adjustments to treat musculoskeletal pain. Both practitioners aim to improve function and reduce pain but use different approaches.

9. Do you treat sports injuries?

Yes, our Practitioners are highly trained in treating sports injuries such as sprains, strains, fractures, tendonitis, and ligament injuries. They use a combination of techniques like exercise therapy, manual therapy, and modalities to aid in recovery and prevent future injuries.

10. What should I wear to my appointment?

It’s a good idea to wear comfortable clothing that allows your Therapist to assess and treat the affected area. For example, if you have a knee injury, wearing shorts may be helpful. If you’re seeing our Therapist for neck or shoulder issues, wearing a loose-fitting top is recommended.
